I have long thought the Ezekiel 38 and 39 prophecy of Gog and Magog would be literal in fulfilment and it seems I am not alone in that. Today things are close to alignment so a few words of help and some of caution to Believers. I have watched this since my late teens 40 odd years ago, it should be exciting it also holds some clear dangers.
It Fulfils ...
Scriptural Basis for Literal.
A Difficult to Find Answer
Exceptions? .. Yes Maybe
Get the Point of Jonah
It fulfils itself no more no less, Yahweh has chosen the words, be extremely careful you do not add an interpretation due to your own hopes or expectations. To be honest all you need is a Bible, and two Maps one ancient world and the other a modern. Read the following: Deuteronomy 5 v 32 & Revelation 22 v 18 7 19.
The justification for preferring a literal expectation, is in the principle of the Mosaic Law at Leviticus 25 v 23, compare this with the words at Ezekiel 38 v 16.
The Glory here is Yahweh’s do not take it personally, as it is not your’s to take. When being charitable to someone; ever been told to “mind your own business”? Transgress personal dignity even of those needing your help and you are in trouble. Yahweh does not even require our help in this, just acknowledgement, we read the words, we saw it happen. So do not go croaking “I told you”! No we only repeated what we were told, that is all we were asked to do. Be wary of your attitude and words, in terms of competition among brothers or religious groups.
: Numbers 20 v 1 to 13 : Deuteronomy 4 v 21,22 : 2 Samuel 6 v 1 to 9
The answer is Yes; compare Ezekiel 38 v 17 with Jude 14,15 with Ezekiel 39 v 8.
When Yahweh gives his word it is sure, well there are quite righteous exceptions;
1. Mercy; Abraham’s plea to save Sodom, [well nearly] Genesis 18 v 19 to 33. Compare the fates of Rahab and Achan; Joshua chp 6 & 7. And following that the Gibeonites of Joshua 9.
Read Ezekiel 33 v 1 to 20 :
If the exceptions do not apply then it will be to the letter.
Daniel 11 v 36 to 45 would appear to add some details perhaps?
Consider Revelation 16 v 16.
Always about the big fish? Not the point of the story, read Jonah chp 3 & 4.
We cannot then say this will happen unless it is qualified with a means of saving / allowance for merciful actions on behalf of the God with a big heart. If no reason to be merciful, then God will do exactly to the letter. And note that point, with no reason to forgive, everything will happen as stated;
IF IT PROGRESSES WITH ONE THING OUT OF PLACE THEN IT IS ACCIDENTAL, IT IS NOT THE PROPHECY.
[Unless for Mercy.]
Just tell people* the news looks like Ezekiel 38, so far it is a very remarkable coincidence or is it??? Time to watch.
*By this you might help in some way or other.
